Leander Lion Trifecta - Boys
February 17, 2026 |
Our LVHS Boys golf team competed in the Leander Lion Spring Trifecta in Leander at Crystal Falls on a beautiful Texas weather day. Crystal Falls GC proved to be challenging, but fun, in this "unconventional" high school tournament golf format, playing 6 holes as a team scramble, 6 holes as a team alternating shot, and 6 holes as a best ball (score).
The cumulative score for all 18 holes were recorded on one score card and turned in for the tournament awards. The tournament consisted of 19 high school teams from 13 Central Texas Area schools.
Leander ran away with the top 3 spots, shooting 56, 62, and 67. Our Lago Vista BLUE team finished the tournament with a final round score of 88. This tournament was a team tournament, with cumulative team scores, so there were not any individual medalist positions to be earned. However, the team members did learn many lessons on shot strategies, ball placement, and club selection. LVHS team members who competed in the tournament were Lucas Jackson, Evan O'Brien, Cullen Parker, and Aidan Velasquez.
